What is DART?

The Demonstration Activity Resource Team (DART) is utilized to provide information for and observing and responding to campus demonstration activities including, but not limited to, protests, marches, camp outs, sit-ins, takeovers, and distribution of literature (each, a “Demonstration Activity”).

UNC Charlotte supports a culture of free expression and debate of ideas, and the University is committed to facilitating a safe learning environment for the community to exercise their First Amendment rights while minimizing any interference with normal University operations.

Overseen by Student Affairs, DART is led by the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs/Dean of Students and comprised of other faculty and staff at the university with diverse skills and and expertise in the areas of free expression, resource management, facility management, and event coordination.
